1st GENERATION: In 1875, Louis Ohrt came to Buffalo from Germany. He continued the family sheet metal business from the old country. He made things like pig feeders for the slaughterhouses in the old East Side and Holy Water bowls for the churches.

2nd GENERATION: Louis' children, Ray, Clarence, & Mildred (AKA Honey, Mose & Dolly) formed Louis Ohrt & Sons and then Ohrt Bros. after Louis retired. Dolly, did the office work. The metal work included roofing, flashing & gutter work plus heating & ductwork.

3rd GENERATION: Dolly's sons, Don & Joe Goodman worked at Ohrt Bros. until WWII, when Honey, Don & Joe, proudly served for the duration. After the war, Honey, Don & Joe restarted as Ohrt & Goodman Bros. Dolly still did the office work.

4th GENERATION: Don Goodman, Jr. grew up working for his Dad. After graduating from college in 1972, he joined his Dad full time. Now, 137 years later, Don Jr. & wife Melissa run the business started by Louis Ohrt in 1875.
