How did Retex's founder and CEO Josh Lewis get into the roofing industry? He explains:

"In 2014, I graduated from Florida State University and accepted a job with a big construction company in Washington, D.C. But after six months, I had an itch I couldn't shake and decided to strike out on my own as a general contractor.

"Around the end of 2015, a client of mine needed a new roof and asked me to manage the work while he was out of town for work. I called 19 different roofing companies: 6 answered, 4 showed up, and only 3 bothered to send me a quote. Of those three, the prices ranged from $6,800 to $21,000. After trying my best as a contractor and an engineering graduate to understand the price range, I realized this segment of the construction industry needed help.
