I am a 3rd generation, single man upholstery shop, with 40 years of experience in upholstery and custom fabrications.

my grandfather started Beard Upholstery in St. Charles, IL. in the late 1940's; teaching my mom and uncle the trade. When my grandfather retired in the early 70's, my uncle took over the business in St. Charles. My mother established Wiewel Custom Upholstery in the Elgin area in 1976. I started learning the trade at a very young age. I upholstered my first simple sofa (my sofa) at 12-years-old and took over running the business in 1991; and ownership in 1999.
